But aren't we all? I tell myself: When I grow up I want to be...
--a novelist
--an artist
--a traveler
--a gourmet cook who can invent delectable gastronomical concoctions and eat them without gaining weight. (Alright, this is more hopeful wishing but it's okay to dream.)
As a child I devoured reading as much as I devoured my mother's fried sugared bananas we called maruya in the Philippines. There was something magical about characters and places I could only see in my imagination. Living in a tropical country where the sun would shine all year long, dreaming about snow was a wonder. Until I came to Utah where the winters never seem to mind Punxsutawney Phil's early spring predictions on Groundhog Day. But the gist of this rambling is that my love for reading introduced me to a new love: writing. Somehow, creating my own stories is more exciting than reading someone else's story.
So here I am. Writing away when I can. I'm constructing my life one day at a time, with my wonderful husband, my beautiful kids, and my trusty desktop computer which hoards the many snippets of my dream. Stories and characters and places only I know...for now.
